What lessons and services does St Helens Piano School offer?
St Helens Piano School is proud to offer the following

How long does a Piano Lesson last?
Piano lessons are taught in 30 minute sessions. You may have as many 30 minute sessions as you chose each week
How often are lesson taught?
All lessons are taught as a minimum weekly.
Is there provision for parents to wait for Children?
Tea and coffee is available for parents waiting for their children, whilst having lessons. Parents may attend the lesson with their child.
Are Piano lessons taught on an individual basis?
Yes, all Piano lessons are taught individually.
How do I pay for Piano lessons?
Lesson payments are made 4 weekly in advance, and can be paid for by Standing Order, Cheque or Cash. Any missed lessons must be paid for and a catch up lesson will be provided as long as a minimum of 24 hrs notice of the cancellation has been given.
What if I cannot attend a lesson?
All lessons that are missed by either the pupil or the teacher must be notified of 24 hours in advance and a catch up lesson will be arranged at a time convenient to both the pupil and teacher within the 4 week period.
Are music books and exam fees included in the lesson cost?
Unfortunately, each pupil will be required to purchase their own learning books and any exam fees.

What levels of Piano are taught?
All levels of Piano are taught from beginner to advanced
What ages are taught?
St Helens Piano School teaches pupils from 7yrs to 100!!!
Is music Theory taught at the Piano School?
Yes, music theory is taught at the Piano School, and can be taught on an individual basis. Alternatively, I am looking to teach a 10 week block group course with the Theory Examination to be taken at the end of each course. The cost of this will depend upon the number of participants in each Graded Level. If this is a service you require, please register your interest on the contact form page (including the Grade required) and I will advise of the cost in due course.
Do I have to take graded exams?
No, at the Piano school I believe that learning to play the Piano should be fun. Examinations are not essential, although all ABRSM level exams are taught.
How do I arrange Aural Exam Preparation sessions?

How do I arrange for Examination Piano Accompaniment Sessions?
Exam accompaniment takes the format of 1 x 30 minute rehearsal prior to the exam day, followed by the examination. The total price is £25 inclusive for examinations taken in the Liverpool area. Any exam venues outside of the area will incur travel expense costs.
Additional rehearsals required by the examination candidate will be subject to an additional fee.
